Part 1 of the HAZWOPER 40-Hour training program focuses on regulatory requirements, hazard communication, hazard recognition, and basic toxicology. Participants will learn how OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations apply to hazardous work, how to read and use SDS and ERG resources, and how to identify common workplace hazards. This portion of training builds the foundation needed to recognize risks and work safely in hazardous environments.
This course is part of a multi-part HAZWOPER training program. To receive full credit for the 40-hour HAZWOPER training, participants must complete:
- Part 1 – Self-Study & Virtual Instruction
- Part 2 – Self-Study & Virtual Instruction
- Part 3 – Instructor-Led Training (if applicable based on your structure)
- Part 4 – In-Person Hands-On Training
In addition, OSHA requires a minimum of three (3) days of supervised field experience, which must be conducted and evaluated by the participant’s employer.
Completion of this course alone does not meet full HAZWOPER training requirements.
